We have recently added Acoustic Technologies to our very select choice of speakers.  This little floorstander fills a niche that previously we lacked-that of a efficient, higher impedance small speaker specifically for low powered solid state and tube amps.  Chuck Booth of Booth Audio, a known loudspeaker designer, listened to these little guys yesterday and kept repeating “I didn’t hear that” everytime he heard them reproduce accurately and with authority a passage that a 3″-yes 3″-shouldn’t be able to do.  They reach down to 35Hz and up to 17KHz effortlessly on 15 to 30 W of power.  Efficiency is 95 db and impedance 8 ohms.  If you own a low powered amp such as First Watt (Nelson Pass), JoLida JD 102 (any EL84 Tube amp), Heed Obelisk Si Integrated, Cary 300B Integrated, and others you really need to hear this speaker.
