After doing some more market research, Marihart Audio will be scaling back its retail operations. I will be selling off all of my demo gear over the next 6 months and pulling pretty much out of retail. I can still order gear in for customers, but I will not stock any demo gear anymore except for my main system. I will continue to offer the Fieckert analysis for my customers on their turntables, and I will continue to do ‘table servicing on all types, esp. Linns. I am also available for consulting work at your residence should you need it.
I want to thank everyone that has supported us for the last 6.5 years, and I will continue to support you although in a more limited fashion.
Marihart Audio Is Moving
We are in the process of closing the Roseville storefront. Marihart Audio will be moving to Colfax into it’s old digs at 222 Sierra View Dr. I will carry the remains of the gear here that didn’t sell, and will be carrying the following lines: Cary Audio, Brodmann, MIT, Exemplar Audio, and limited JoLida , Feickert, and Music Hall. You can contact me on the cell at 530-320-1576. I will still tune turntables and work on them, and may get a small space down in Roseville for pick up and drop off. Thank you for hanging in there with me.

Sierra Nevada Audiophile Society Meeting June 9
We have a meeting of the Sierra Nevada Audiophile Society this weekend on June 9 at Audio Experience. The meeting will start at 1 PM, there will be several topics covered, and Dan Filip, an acoustical engineer of DF Design, will be giving a talk on room acoustics and how critical they are to the sound of your system. Also he will cover the measurement of and how to solve issues with the room. His firm does the measurement and calculations to perfect the room acoustics, not the install. He will point the way as to how we can do that ourselves. Also we will have a summary of the meeting with Dan Levi of the LA Audiophile Society. See you there-this will be a great meeting.
Sierra Nevada Audiophile Society Meeting Notes, May 19, 2012
This past Saturday, the Sierra Nevada Audiophile Society held its monthly meeting at the home member Gavin Fish at 1:00pm. During the meeting, the society:
- Revisited last meeting’s notes, including the idea of launching a society website, posting contact information of the club members in a secure area online, and creating a more broad organization including a vice president, secretaries, etc.
- A decision was made that Gavin Fish would put together a website with a forum installed so the group could easily communicate online.
- Discussed fundraising ideas and what to spend the money on. It was discussed that the club may want to file as a non-profit organization and raise money for music education and other worthy causes. It was decided that members David Sykes and Gavin Fish would speak with Bob Levy, president of the LA/Orange County Audiophile Society to see what his advice was on the matter. This meeting will take place at T.H.E. Show in Newport Beach.
- It was decided that the group needs an activities director. We nominated and seconded John Berry for the position.
- It was decided that Tim Palin would be our communications director.
- We discussed the possibility of implementing an annual membership fee, whereas now the $15 fee is for a lifetime membership.
- We decided to invite Tony Weber of Cary Audio to speak to the group. Dave Marihart is going to extend the invitation.
From there, we spent three hours listening to music from various genres and artists on Gavin’s home system, which features a Light Harmonic Da Vinci DAC, Wilson Audio loudspeakers, MIT Cables interfacing, and Pass Labs components.
